gMocren -- a volume visualizer for Geant4 medical simulation

Latest update: December 29, 2023

  • Fixed errors of the Download page.
  • macOS and Linux versions will be rebuild in the near future.

  • Modified the startup script of the Linux version built on CentOS7.4.
  • Added a Linux version built on CentOS7.
  • I experienced that gMocren didn't work on MacOSX 10.9.5. It was caused by updating the ImageIO.framework. It can be avoided by removing the following files: gMocren4.app/Contents/gtk/lib/libjpeg.8.dylib and libjpeg.dylib .

Installation :
(Windows) Extract a downloaded gMocren4-*.zip file, and then double-click Install.exe in the extracted folder.
(MacOSX) Extract a downloaded gMocren4-*.zip file, and then move the extracted folder to a suitable place (e.g. /Applications folder).
(Linux) Extract a downloaded gMocren4-*.tgz (tar + gzip) file, and then move the extracted directory to a writable directory.

Tips :
(Windows) If an image in the 3D pane isn't displayed or saved rightly (that is caused by the Windows Aero), change a property as follows:
right-click gMocren.exe or its alias icon,
click "Properties, and then
check the "Disable desktop composition" in the "Compatibility" tab.

IMPORTANT NOTICE
to use the former gMocren, please replace the file:

(install_directory)/gMocren/license.dat
with the file from here (download with right-click and save target as).
We recommend you to use the new gMocren.

gMocren is a tool to display patient data overlaid with radiotherapy dose distribusions calculated by the Geant4 Simulation Toolkit. gMocren also supports overlay of Geant4 geometry and trajectory information.
This activity was a part of the project, "Development of Simulaton Framework for Advanced Radiotherapy" supporting by CREST, JST (Core Research for Evolutional Science and Technology, Japan Science and Technology Agency).
